When we decided to launch an iPad 1:1 programme at Mounts Bay Academy (www.mountsbay.org) I decided to use the opportunity to complete my Masters Degree at The University of St Mark and St John, Plymouth.
One area that fascinated me was whether iPads (other mobile technologies are available) could have a positive impact on students on the Autistic Spectrum.
On starting the research, I was surprised at the lack of good texts on ASD education across a wide curriculum, as I discuss in the dissertation.
One document that I discovered was entitled “children with autism: strategies for accessing the curriculum key stages 3&4” and was not easily accessible at first, not publicised well. I have included links below to various sites that are still hosting it and I would urge anyone in 11-16 education to read it thoroughly.
